Installed it - pretty neat, not sure if I want to use something that makes me stare at ads (but I understand and accept why they're there). It doesn't remember the sort selection though - I like to have all my new email appear at the BOTTOM, so I click on the Ascending/Descending tab and it works, but when I switch away from that folder and back to it, it resets to having my new email at the top of the folder. Frustrating. The way it allows you to work with all sorts of email accounts is very cool!

Jeremy beat me to it, but I was going to suggest Live Mail Desktop as well. I have it set up right now with my hotmail and two IMAP accounts. http://ideas.live.com/programpage.aspx?versionid=6ac2bed2-b5a4-4a0a-a897-e36dd191a9f4

Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Mail Desktop are two DIFFERENT things. (I got confused too...) Live Mail Desktop is basically a stripped down Outlook, but it puts outlook to shame (in my opinion). It's clean, slick, and allows you to condense all your email accounts to one inbox. (It also shows each mail account separately of course.)

Give it a try.

Nope, I haven't tried Windows Live Mail Desktop...I'm not looking for a new email address, I already have my own domain. Or can their online tool work with IMAP accounts?

Have you tried Windows Live Mail Desktop beta? It's phenomenal. Easy setup, simple but powerful, highly customizable, and it will work with EVERYTHING, including gmail. Best freakin' spam filter I've seen in my life.

I hear you, but somehow I doubt users are going to do that - and I wonder, will backup applications find the hidden folders? I looked at my User folder and if I select the entire thing it's 32.4 GB. If I select just the visible documents, it's 30.6 GB. Part of the hidden data is the email...I bet some users just wouldn't think to back it up. Making an Email folder would make more sense IMO.

(Is "Jason Dunn Dunn" a typo?)

I think the philosophy should be to back up your entire "Users\Jason Dunn" folder, excepting the local stuff (called "Local Settings" on XP, no clue what Vista calls it). This way, you don't back up caches, but do back up everything else. I wonder if Vista's backup tool makes such a process easy?
