Building With Bay West Homes

The journey of building a new house...

One of the issues we continue to struggle with Bay West over is how long it takes them to fix things with our house. For example, they designed one of the walls in such a way that as the house settled over time, it would result in large cracks on a portion of our wall heading up the stairs. They knew about this, and they told us, and we accepted it. They've come back to fix it once previously, but since it's now been over a year that we've been in the house, it was time for the "final fix". It took a few months, but we finally got a workman to come out and patch the wall. A few days later, the painters were scheduled to show up. We told Bay West three times that we were out of paint, and they apparently told the painters, but the painters showed up without any paint. None of them seem capable of making any decisions on their own about getting paint, so after the first painter showed up and realized we needed paint, he had to call his boss in. His boss asked the same questions the first painter did "What do you mean you're out of paint? How did that happen?". I explained that because the original painters did such a horrible job, we've had a years worth of minor painting touch-ups. So it shouldn't be surprising we've out of paint!

And because we don't have the original paint lot information, they have to either track down the exact paint, or re-paint the whole wall. And since no painter wants to do that, they're playing the delaying game.

Our wall has looked like that for nearly a month now, and no one seems capable of getting back to us about getting it fixed. It's very frustrating!
