Taskin, a San Francisco-based company that primarily sells bags and luggage, has done a crowdfunding bait-and-switch on their recent Kickstarter campaign and a gone silent on responding to backers (and possibly gone under as a company, not sure).
Don’t buy from them, you might not get what you paid for.
Crowdfunding campaigns not delivering what they promise is certainly not new, but what is surprising about this is that Taskin has been doing crowdfunding for seven years. They’ve done 16 campaigns in total, raising $1.36M in funds over the years. They were a reputable company that made great products; I backed several of them, and purchased others. I really liked their stuff!
This campaign was pretty small in comparison to their others: 74 backers pledged $8,355. Maybe the lack of support for their first non-luggage/travel related product is what killed the company. You can see the campaign where they stopped posting updates back in May. You can also read the comments from people who either have not received the product at all or people who have received the 3D-printed garbage like I did.

Their support team did initially reply via email in June, then stopped. I’ve followed up multiple times over two months with no response. They haven’t posted any response to the comments on their Kickstarter campaign, and there haven’t been any campaign updates since May.
